BASEBALL
The Calvert Legion BASEBALL TEAM ended the season with a 23 and 18 year. The last few games we played well. After the black barons game that was in the paper we won over the Columbia Reds 4 - 0 and the Black Barons 7 to 3 and then lost to the Columbia Reds 5 - 4 in a well played game. In addition we played in a tournament in Johnstown Pa. where we made a good showing according to coach Gibbons. We look very promising for next year. Since 1925, The American Legion has sponsored a nationwide youth baseball program. During these past seven decades, millions of young players have enjoyed playing baseball. The American Legion and their 2.8 million members have raised millions of dollars each year for players to learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, leadership and good sportsmanship.
